The display on version 3 ecards now gives orienteers faster punching and instant split times. On sale since 2002, the v3 ecard gives many improvements to electronic punching. The display gives you the possibility to check you have punched correctly while you leave the control. Soon it will also tell you if you visited the correct control, and what control comes next. After the race you can use the display and a scroll button to step through your splits

Emit and EmitUK in 2005

Emit is now the preferred system for South Central region (SCOA), the Army in UK, Germany & Cyprus the northern scottish clubs and increasingly in the South West and Midlands.

The World Champs in Sep 04 used the Emit punching system to provide splits for all competitors.

World Masters Orienteering Championships 2003 was organized with the Emit punching system.

Thanks to Emit UK, that famous Norwegian utility has arrived in the UK. Specially designed for the Emit system, now you can upload the map of your event, plot your courses and upload the splits produced by Emit. Then you and your friends can draw your route and "see" where you were at a particular time. "More than just a graph", all you need is a jpeg map and a bit of time.
